Casström is an up and coming knife company from Sweden. Known for high quality bush and hunting knives, they partnered with US edged-tool importer CAS Iberia in 2016.
Sale Creek, Tennessee’s CAS Iberia is a multifaceted company with a reputation built upon thirty years of importing superb Japanese swords, reproduction and role-play edged weapons, and high quality knives from the best foreign manufacturers. Currently these include Russia’s Kizlyar Supreme, Cambodia’s Citadel Knives and Swords, and Casstrom of Sweden.
Casström and CAS Iberia have had a big week. It was announced that they were the winner of the Knife Collaboration of the Year for the Caström/Lars Falt/CAS Iberia Lars Falt lockback.

CAS has donated 3 knives including a Caström. This one is their Safari model, and it is no slouch either.
CAS Iberia describes the Safari thusly:

Design by renowned English custom knife maker Alan Wood known for his hand made Bushcraft and Deer Stalking knives. The blade is made using a full-tang construction, features a tapered tang and is made in hollow-ground 12c27 Swedish Stainless steel (HRC 59). Comes with a sturdy leather sheath. The design in combination with the materials used makes this a very beautiful but highly resilient piece of kit. Ideal as a small skinner for small deer and as a small belt knife for safari hunters. The designer, Alan Wood, has been a professional knifemaker since 1985 and has become the UK’s most emulated craftsman due to his practical and attractive designs.

Personal observations:
The black G10 and polished Sandvik blade give the Casström Safari a classy and classic look. The gentle curves to the handle and rounded edges make the ergonomics of the Safari very comfortable in my mid-sized hand.
It comes extremely sharp from the factory and the fit and finish are quite good for a knife in its price point.
The sheath is simple but high-quality, and would make a reasonable canvas for custom embellishment.
Outside Review:
Because Caström is a fairly young company, they have flown under the radar in the US. There aren’t a ton of reviews, and none from our usual sources.

I also found this video review on YouTube. I don’t understand a lick of German, but there is some good footage of the knife in action.
