How could I not share this?  I just posted about small fixed blades, GrumpyGrunt is a great guy, and Kyle is a friend and someone I have enjoyed getting to know over the years.

  2. Hocky – the tops sounds interesting, how do I get you my details? Clay has my email if that helps. In California ANY length fixed blade is defined as a dirk or dagger and so cannot be concealed (3 year felony), the upside is that there is no length limit if it is open carried. It means neck or pocket carry of a small fixie is verboten.

    1. California has very strange knife rules, regulations and such. So, I can strap my machete on my body and go surfing, hiking and whatever . . . just do not cover it up.       1. Unfortunately it gets worse, as there are multiple city restrictions that I cant even begin to follow. But yes, hanging a any length fixed blade on your belt is legal, but if the wind blows your shirt tail and it gets covered go straight to jail. Laws are never rational and keep in mind IANAL. But, much like the UK, it all depends on context.

  4. Nice Blade, I’m really into 3″ fixies these days. It’s just a shame CA has felonies waiting for anyone who dares to conceal one of these in their pocket, oh my!

    1. amen. i passed on a bk 24 as the bidding got to over as hundred… they don’t pop up often. just sniped the last two (don’t judge) for low 40’s, cheaper than a new bk14. they are great front pocket knives.
      until i find a used esee sencillo.

    2. Yo’ StuartB: I have a TOPS “Bull Trout”. 2 3/4″ blade, 154CM. Original TOPS leather sheath. Excellent condition. I carried it once or twice. Stout lil’ knife! When I do carry a small production fixed blade, it is my Bark River “PST” with a “13C26” blade at 2 1/8 in. (My “PST” was a pawn shop buy several years ago and was made around 2008. Modern “PST”s use Damascus and run about $350+ . . . ). Anyways, if you are interested in the “Bull Trout” I would sell it to you; Is a 2.75 inch blade legal in California?
