While KNIFE Magazine has a pedigree dating back more than 40 years, the media landscape is constantly evolving, and we have to as well. Of course the biggest change was Publisher Mark Zalesky’s decision to change from the newsprint Knife World to KNIFE Magazine and our current glossy format. A couple of years later Digital Editor Clay Aalders joined KNIFE, and we launched the KNIFEMagazine.com website.
A confluence of events has made this a perfect time to launch our YouTube channel. First, our new Graphic Artist, Katie Connor has experience in video editing, much more than Clay and Mark. The second is that Mark has gone truly viral in a short video he shot last year for the Antique Bowie Knife Channel. At the time of this writing it has received more than 81k views in just over 4 months. It is our hope that the video will help generate referrals as we launch a channel of our own.
This channel will give us the opportunity to offer bonus content related to articles from the print magazine, whether it is a covered maker giving us a tour of their shop, or having Mark document the disassembly of an antique bowie or demonstrate a unique action or mechanism on a knife.
The possibilities are endless but our experience in the medium is not, so please be patient as we add material. Come check us out and please subscribe to the channel if you are so inclined.
