Fox Cutlery leaned into the tactical side of things recently, showing off a family of new knives from CQC instructor Jared Wihongi at IWA. These new Wihongi models include two fixed blade and two folder designs.
The MOA’s wild blade is definitely a head turner. At 2.95 inches long, it’s not huge, but the profile looks like it will punch above its size class: a modified American tanto with a recurve between the primary and secondary edges, this is an unabashedly tactical piece of work…
…The TOA fixed blade comes with the same arcing, finger ring’d handle as the MOAs, but with a simplified wharncliffe blade shape…
…Finally we have the KEA, second folding knife in this clutch of Wihongi collabs. It has a 2.76-inch modified sheepsfoot blade profile that’s definitely the best-suited to regular EDC out of any of these knives (it is also made from N690Co, by the way).
Jared Wihongi is a super nice guy and one of the people on my short list of folks whose writings and videos on defensive knife use I trust.
