CRKT – Columbia River Knife & Tool- www.crkt.com or 1-800-891-3100
CRKT has a reputation for bringing a great number of new releases to each year’s SHOT Show, and 2020 was no different. Lucas Burnley has added versions of his Tuna and Sketch. There are compact and standard versions of Brian Tighe’s Tighe Fighter. T.J. Schwarz contributes the Parascale, Thero, and Overland. There is an interesting sliding lock/opening mechanism by Ken Steigerwalt on the Psych, and the new cleaver version of the Folts Minimalist is sure to be a popular addition to the line (see p.12 for photo).
Perhaps the most interesting releases from CRKT for 2020 are a series of three knives originally designed by Kit Carson – the M40 line. The M40 knives combine a previously unproduced Carson design with the Flavio Ikuma designed Deadbolt lock. a collaboration that was truly decades in the making.
The knife is available in three sizes, a 2.94” tanto blade (MSRP $140), as well as spear points of 3.45” (MSRP $140) and 3.99’ (MSRP $160) respectively. All three come with 8Cr13MoV steel with GRN scales and an aluminum bolster.
