News from Case this year is led by the release of the 2-3/4” Pocket Hunter from the Case Vault with 15 new models, (MSRP $54.99 & up) as well as a new Tony Bose knife in the form of the Locking Lanny’s Clip. Available in six handle choices starting at an MSRP of $482.99, this year’s Bose release is a locking version of the Case/Bose collaboration from 2012, one of the most popular models in Tony’s line of handmade knives.
Case steps a little out of its comfort zone this year with the Winkler Pack Axe, the fourth blade in the Case Winkler American Heroes Series of products designed by U.S. military veterans. The 15” long Pack Axe is built around a single 3/8”-thick piece of 80CrV2 carbon steel for strength, and the tapered, skeletonized handle has canvas laminate grips and a paracord handle wrap near the head. A custom head guard makes for easy belt-carry. It carries a serious price (MSRP $499.99), but this is one serious small axe.
