Happy Friday Folks. We have made it through another week and can slow things down a bit with our Weekend Open Thread. We have begun to get some traction on these, thanks to Browning Knives generous donation of pretty much their entire 2020 lineup of new knives. Today we will be getting a little less “Office-Friendly” than the previous two weeks’ Browning Prism IIIs. This weekend we will be giving away a Browning Primal Folder.
This thing is robust. The finger grooves fit my medium sized paws like Cinderella’s slipper. I have passed it around some and none of the half dozen other’s who have handled it have had anything but positive things to say.
I really dig the subtle “Buckmark” logo which provides texture to the black G10 scales.
With a $54.99 target msrp, it is going to be a really solid option wit an sub-$50 street price. It comes with a cordura belt-pouch which would fit right in on a duty belt as well.
As mentioned, this is an Open Thread. Pretty much anything semi-tangential to knives is fair game. If you are looking for a topic, what is your favorite item we posted to the newsfeed this week? What is your Grail Knife? What is your favorite beater knife? The thread is your oyster. Post away.
I will draw a winner from the comments. You can have up to five of your comments entered in the drawing. Just make sure there is some “there” there. We need more than a “Pick Me”. Only Jason K, as last week’s winner, is excluded from entry (he can certainly comment if he wishes), and Zach and Cmeat are back in the running. If you are new to KnifeMagazine.com, your first comment will be held in moderation. Be patient, I will approve it in short order.
Checking the Knife Magazine Events Calendar, we see it is a quiet weekend. If you know of a major knife show, drop us a line. I will be sure to add it.
Check the Events Calendar to see what is coming up near you. You can even sort by distance from your zip code.
It has come to our attention as I was putting the final touches on this post, that Benchmade founder Les deAsis has passed away. You can read the statement from his son and current Benchmade President Jon deAsis at this link:
