Weekend Open Thread: Because of the Brave Edition

Howdy all. I am a bit late getting this out, but it is a long weekend, so I don’t feel as badly about it.

I hope everyone is doing well, the lede meme is certainly on point, as I am freshly returned from a week in Pawley’s Island, SC.

We actually had booked the trip for last year, but well…

I have mentioned that last year’s SHOT Show was the last blast of Normalcy, but low and behold Blade Show starts Friday. I am super excited, but between then and now lies Press Day for the July issue. So there is a big hurdle to overcome before the real fun (work?) begins. Maybe I will finally make it down to The Pit this year.

It will be strange being in such a large and crowded venue again.

Also between now and Blade Show is our one item from our Events Calendar:

Nashville Custom Knife Show

Anyone going?

That is the last of the Memorial Day memes, most are a bit somber (for good reason).  The rest are fairly non-topical, though I did find a WuFlu meme I hadn’t seen yet…

Sounds truly terrifying.

Something that isn’t terrifying, If you jump over to our Instagram, you and a friend can both win a Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener Mk. 2

As any dog owner can tell you, leaving your dogs is far and away the worst thing about traveling. I can facetime my kids. The dogs think I am gone forever.

Costly mistake in this day and age.

That one made me laugh because my daughter learned the word “charcuterie” this week, and insisted on making a board up when my wife and I opened a bottle of wine on our trip. It was delicious btw.

Speaking of kids…

I am 6’5″ tall and 225 LBS. The struggle is real.

I hope everyone has a contemplative and enjoyable Memorial Day. Our prayers go out to those that made the ultimate sacrifice, and to the families they left behind. It is a debt we can never repay, other than to try to preserve this great country that they died to protect.

Be well everyone.

One last thing, Atif Shabir, Owner of BnB (used to be called Buck n Bear) asked me to pass this along:

They make some good knives. I am looking forward to seeing Atif at Blade. It has been too long.
