Hey Everybody. Happy Friday I mean Saturday. My daughter’s basketball game ran late, and I was gassed. Still getting caught up on family, work, and sleep. But I wouldn’t want to let y’all down.

The nice thing about this scandal is it has caught folks from all sides of the spectrum. A pox on all their houses. But since it is an equal opportunity cluster-foxtrot, we can tee off on everyone.

  2. Referencing the “I Like My Knives Like I Like My Women . . . ” that blade looks eerily like the “Puma” which “Mark the Z” is wielding in “SHOT Show Day 2”.

    Oh, that 6-lb poisonous amphibian found in northern Australia was a “Cane Toad”. Dubbed “Toadzilla”, these toads were imported from South America a long time ago to eat cane beetles. Well, they eat anything that can fit in their huge mouths! Their skin is loaded with bufotoxins . . . Australia has more than 200 million of them bounding around the jungle. No known predators, duh. As if Australia did not have enough strange animals.

      1. GOD the Almighty has a sense of bizarre humor! Australia certainly leads in its assortment of creatures. Take the wombat, please (R. Dangerfield, RIP), a marsupial with a large butt that can run nearly as fast as Usain Bolt. If a predator chases it into its burrow, then it blocks the hole with its ass!

        Yes, I have taken a trip to the Land Down’Under . . . where women glow and me plunder (Men at Work)

          went to see the james gang circa mid ’70’s, kiss was the headliner- i had never heard of them!
          i miss .93cent (how come qwerty boards have dolla sign but no cents sign?) long play vinyl. we had a place called record city with three for five in the cutout bins.

    2. Don’t forget the jellyfish and great white sharks Hocky! I heard you need to wear a wetsuit in some areas of the Ocean because there are so many of the smaller jellyfish.

  4. Great job getting this posted Clay, after all you had going on lately this is a feat! Speaking of worthy recognition, Geraldo finally gets some after all these years. Fondly remember what a build-up that was! 🙂

  6. “Wood” . . . renewable energy. “Wood-Burning Stove”*** + “Wood” = “Heat”. “Heat” useful.

    ***”Mom” Warner (1902-1991) cooked on a wood-burning stove/oven. Bread, pies, catfish, stews and soups . . . us grand-kids dried our boots and gloves on it. My brother, Denny, would “toast his bread until it was black” . . . Carbon-dating himself. Just reminiscing.

    Did anybody read about that 6-lb poisonous frog in New Zealand?

    Did anybody watch “SNL” on Saturday, 1/28? A skit on “State Farm” was LOL . . . in the same vein as “Lasagna Slide” . . . “Geico” and “Liberty Mutual” got some mention, too.

    I got a “Crock SticK” at thrift store ($2). I got to remember my trigonometry . . where is that protractor? Ceramic rods are the bull’s balls for a fine edge!

    On the weather in Hagerstown, Maryland: Where is winter? I was up in my trees yesterday trimming out broken limbs. 55 deg. F . . . buds on the maple tree, water oozed from a cut on the river birch,. . . crocus is two inches high . . . Mother Nature vs. Groundhog coming up on Thursday, 2/2.

    1. Too funny Hocky, my wife doesn’t call it “Toast” until it is burnt black, these pieces would probably work in the forge if one ran out of coal and propane.

      I have a nice set of Spyderco “Crocks”, the maker I learned from used them way back then, at that time Spyderco was just getting started!

      We are going back below zero for another cold snap, however hoping the groundhog is on the ball this year, had enough winter already! I usually take the Harley out for it’s initial run the first week of March every year, countdown is on! Not sure if you have mentioned anything on this subject; Did you ever ride motorcycles?

      My first bike at age 14 was a BSA 441 Victor Special. A few of us had street bikes then, no license until 16, but that didn’t stop us from hitting the highway. That BSA leaked a quart of oil on a hundred mile return trip. oil all over your rear tire, just shake my head thinking about it???

        We’re chilly for us-20’s-low 30’s. And ice. We rarely get snow, but sleet/freezing rain are common. Up to 1/2 inch of ice predicted for this afternoon/evening.
        So when you see news reports from north Texas with vehicles sliding everywhere, just remember we don’t have Zambonis!
        We’re there any new for ‘23 ice picks at Shot?

        1. Don’t forget about the Zamboni in Dallas Mark! The Stars are in 1rst place in the NHL Central Division after all. They have always been one of my favorite teams. They might lend theirs out if they are on a road trip? 🙂

          Summer tires and ice, that happened with an early storm in Vancouver before Christmas, shut the city right down for a day or two. The news show a car sliding down hills into parked cars, suddenly one became two, became three and four going down these long hills. What a year though, we are used to winter but have seriously had enough!!!

          I never made it to SHOT, but Clay will know about the ice picks, maybe a surprise for the next WOT giveaway knife, er pick!

          1. It’s only 25 miles away-but we’re up to 3/4 of an inch of ice on the roads with more coming -I’d need a Zamboni to get the Zamboni!

            I’ve had my heart broken by every local sports team. I want to root for the Stars, but I’m wary! I’ll get excited about them when they start winning in overtime!

            I went back and looked at the pictures from Shot. Lots of vey cool sharps. Several that could break up some ice! I guess we’ll see

          2. stars are a good bet, killer team for years. but they are no longer the north stars so they are enemy team. maybe someday, cap notwithstanding, the hawks will be viable again. goin’ nowhere w/ o goaltender.
            does a wood stove affect children’s asthma? not an electric cooking fan. i’ll admit it boils water faster and can be turned lower than gas (stovetop) but me no likey oven use. along with my tungsten filament bulbs and my 5gallon per flush tanks i’m becoming ungovernable.
            the german weather report (stick your head out the window, if it gets wet we won’t be there) shows snow on the acropolys and parthenon.
            there was a street model of the bsa victor called the shooting star, always thought that would strike a nice balance. as i learned more of their failings (kicker, charging) i abandoned pursuit.

    I’m not in favor of anarchy, but there’s a lot to be said for becoming ungovernable! I smiled in agreement at being part of the problem!

    Night Hawk, I think that grandma getting signed was a buddy of mine’s older sister! She was definitely inappropriate for taking to work! Unfortunately, she didn’t age well at all!!
