Greetings and Salutations fair People of the Knife. It’s been a quiet week in Lake Wobegone…Oh, wait, that isn’t it. Actually, it has been a fairly crazy week, and anything but quiet. We are having our kids’ bathroom redone, and the contractor has been doing demo all week. Lots of banging. And lacrosse practice started this week. We have 22 girls for Fall Ball, including 4 brand new girls who are picking up sticks for the first time. I am excited to get going.
Of course with the start of school comes school picture day.
An interesting aside… Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes, went to Kenyon College, my Alma Mater. The original C&H sketches were done on the bathroom stalls of Old Kenyon dormatory, and are under 20+ layers of paint now.
There is a Willem DaFoe meme where a director asks him for a look where he shoved someones butterfly collection up his tuchus. He has that look mastered.
It is pretty ridiculous. Just because the technology makes it possible, doesn’t mean it is advisable.
If he doesn’t use that in the yearbook, he missed a golden opportunity.

In other news…
We try to stay fairly apolitical on these threads, but those of us who have lived our lives in a financially responsible manner, either by repaying their obligations, or entering the workforce without accruing 6 figures of debt, have a right to be pissed off.

There are immutable truths of life. The Ice Cream machine will be down at McDonalds, and Taco Bell will be out of Mexican Pizza.
I am already not looking forward to my alarm on Monday morning.
