Howdy Folks, and welcome Instapundit readers to our little corner of the internet. Thank you to the Blogfather for sending you our way.
What does an Instalanche look like?
It is the brass ring of blogging, and I could not be more grateful.
Quick explanation of our Weekend Open Threads. They started as an opportunity to have a knife giveaway, and share our weekend Event Calendar of knife shows around the country, but when the WuFlu cancelled all the shows, they morphed into a weekly meme thread.
Two big shows this weekend, the Nashville Custom Knife Show and the Texas Custom Knife Show. Fun fact, the Nashville show used to be the New York Custom Knife Show which until Covid forced it to move, but actually took place in New Jersey because NYC knife laws made even holding a show there prohibitive. Hoplophobia is a mental disorder.
There is still a knife giveaway, so keep reading,
The way the threads work is there will be some topical memes come first, followed by the Giveaway, followed by a shotgun scatter of random memes that I found throughout the week.
Obviously, this was one of the bigger stories this week, and there were memes o’plenty.
If history is any guide, he will.
I keep the memes in this forum mostly apolitical, because people from all along the spectrum are into knives, but certain topics cross political lines, like all the WuFlu memes are fair game. Like these these scumbags.
Not all topical memes are political however…
Missed that one before Halloween.
We have shared a lot of Ukraine memes over the past year. The Cat was not amused.
A mystery indeed. Wrapped in an enigma.
Congratulations, you have made it this far. It is contest time. We are in the midst of a website upgrade, so we have been off for a couple of weeks, and I will get back to where we left off next time. Because we have a bunch of first time visitors, we are going to do a single week drawing for the Gerber Downwind Ulu.
I haven’t messed around with it much, other than to gather a few impressions, but the whole Downwind series by Gerber is pretty solid. We gave away the Caper earlier this year, and the Drop Point Hunter is great. My son has co-opeted that one, but I have used it extensively as well.
The rules for the contest are these:
Up to 5 comments or replies to this post count as your entries, and if you are new to the blog, your comments will be held in moderation until the first one is approved. After that you can post at will. So yes, please come back and participate in the conversation and rack up your 5 free entries.
Winner will be announced next Friday. Good Luck everyone.
Now back to the memes, starting with the Dad Joke of the Week…
As always. Apologies.
I hadn’t thought about it until now.
10/10 would eat there.
Apparently, Coconuts were not unheard of in Medieval England, and Monty Python is not a reliable historical source.
Endorsed, though I think saying as much got the Blogfather kicked off of Twitter.
Savage. Not wrong, but ouch.
No HR department at KNIFE Magazine. So I am safe.
Except driving my kids to school on the way into the office. (Mark’s basement)
Wow. Never realized how true that is.
That’s worse than wearing a concert t-shirt from that year’s tour to the show.
Most of the time I am a 2.
Alright, that is about it for this week. Good luck with the contest, and we will see you on the flip side. Remember, 5 comments and replies on this post are your contest entries, and I will get to approving comments as often as I can.
Have a good one everybody, and thanks again to the Good Doctor for the Instalanche.
