  1. Knife lubes? I agree with Mr. Andersen on virgin mineral oil. It is edible. I use it sparingly on knife blades, pivots, and backsprings. Beeswax is edible, too. I dress my hi-carbon custom blades with it.
    Pawnshop news: “J&S Pawn and Guns” (www.jspawnguns.com) in Hagerstown, MD was a Christmas come early on Monday, November 17th. I landed two “BEAR & Son”, NIB: “Rancor IX”, D2 plain edge; and, a “C138-Farmhand” (aka “Sodbuster”) slip-joint w/Aluminum frame. Then, four CASE slip-joints: “NIB” were a “41749L SS: Mini Copperlock; and, a “6220 SS Crimson Redbone Peach Seed Jig Peanut (aka “CRPSJP” . . . AAarrg-hh, Hocky humor!). Not in a box: “610096 SS 9-Dot “Tiny Toothpick”; and, a “Sodbuster Jr. – 2137 Carbon Steel blade 8-Dot”. None of the CASE knives were vintage . . . but, hey, I averaged $25 per knife. The “CRPSJP” and “Tiny Toothpick” are excellent size for the “5th pocket”. Looking ahead to 2026, my peddler bag is being re-filled. The holiday spirits brings out the goodwill in my soul . . . I may gift a slip-joint or two. “Hocky”
