Frederick Wiebusch was in New York City. Mr. Wiebusch began as an importer using the trademark “Monumental Cutlery Company” about 1874. He had previously been a partner of the Witte Hardware Company of St. Louis, Missouri.
In 1876, Wiebusch purchased the firm of B.J. Eyre of Sheffield, England. Along with Eyre, he also acquired the trademark “Challenge”. After Frederick Wiebusch died in 1893, they were taken over by Wiebusch & Hilger.
