Becker Knife and Tool passes the Baton

It is fairly monumental news in my personal corner of the knife industry, strangely being news that most of us have known for quite some time now. Ethan Becker is passing the Becker Knife and Tool torch to David C. Andersen. As much as we Beckerheads would love for “Uncle Ethan” to live forever, it is unlikely to be the case. Ethan decided a while ago that he wanted to pass the reins to David when he is gone, but David countered that they should not wait, and start releasing knives together.

According to Becker, ““I figured (David) would honor my design philosophy because it’s very similar to (his).”

For his part, David responded with, “It’s an incredible honor to be collaborating with my longtime friend and mentor, and I hope we get to work together for many years before I fully take the reins. The BK25C is the perfect introduction as it blends both of our design styles together into something that feels totally Becker!”.

The knife is pretty killer too.  I want one to put through its paces in the Smokies. Looks like a fantastic guide knife.
