A.G. Russell founded the Knife Collectors Club in 1970. Commemorative knives were sold to club members. The first was a three-blade stock knife (the Kentucky Rifle Commemorative), and made by Schrade in 1971.
The “A.G. Russell” marking was not used until 1974. In 1975, A. G. Russell purchased Hen and Rooster, and knives were made by them until 1980, when the plant was closed. Currently, the KCC issues three to four club knives per year. Russell also offers another line of “user” knives, which have been made by a variety of manufacturers.
