“Pequot” is stamped on the back of the tang. Usually marked “B.T. Co. New Haven.” The company was incorporated as a wholesale hardware firm in early 1923. The capital stock was $600,000. Lewis H. Bronson, William A. Watts and Earle B. Seeley were the incorporators. Prior to 1923, they had been dealers in wholesale hardware and cutlery. They incorporated to increase the size of their business. The “Pequot” trademark was derived from the Pequot Indian tribe. It was also the original name of the city of New Haven.
A 3 1/4” 2-blade pen knife, marked “B.T. Co. New Haven.” “Pequot” is etched on the blade, and also stamped on the back of the tang.
