The Derby Razor Company was a subsidiary of the Derby Silver Plate Company. The factory was on the canal bank in Shelton, (Derby) Connecticut. They employed 20 workers, and produced 150 different kinds of razors, and about 75 different strops. The razor manufactory was founded in 1896, with a capital stock of $15,000.
They purchased a complete plant in Fremont, Ohio, and moved the equipment and stock to the plant in Derby. The razor manufactory occupied a portion of the Silver Plate Cutlery Company factory. David Eastman was president, J.R. Brinsmode manager and treasurer. Walter Randall secetary. These men, along with J.C. Griffin and I.H. Peck, made up the board of directors. The razor division went out of business about 1902.
