George W. Tryon founded this gunsmith company in 1811. Tryon also sold other sporting equipment, including cutlery. Some of their knives were imported from England, but most were made in the United States. “Warranted Cutlery”, “3/T”, “Tryon Tru Temper,” “TruSport,” and “Tryon” were used as trademarks on their cutlery products. This company manufactured “Bowie” type knives, among other kinds of cutlery.
