The Iowa Novelty Company was first listed in the Cedar Rapids City Directory in 1919. Roy W. Coffman was manager, and they were located at 516 Mullin Building. In 1923, they moved to 111 Bever Building.
About 1926, Roy Coffman died, and his widow Maude J. Coffman became the manager. In 1928, Kenneth Lindsay took over the company. MacClellan (Mac) Watson became manager in 1931.
In 1935, Mac Watson started Iowa Vending Company, dealing in vending machines, in the same building as the Iowa Novelty Company. By 1936, Iowa Novelty had closed, and Iowa Vending had moved to 509 1/2 3rd Avenue SE.
