This marking was used by J.B.F. Champlin in a cutlery jobbing business. It became J.B.F. Champlin & Son in 1882 when his son Tint joined him in the firm. In 1886, his brothers-in-law, the Case brothers joined the firm, and the name became the Cattaraugus Cutlery Company.
