John Hilton was on the Scratchville Road in North Woodbury, Connecticut. John Hilton began this business in 1895, manufacturing cutlery in F.R. Ford’s shop in North Woodbury. After a few months, he took his brother-in-law, Mr. Dunworth of Bridgeport, in as a partner. They made fifty varieties of knives which were sold in the New York market.
They moved to Hotchkissville, and Mr. Dunworth retired. Mr. Curley of New York then became a partner in the business.
