This firm was at 52 State Street, and 20 Beaver Street, Albany, New York. Established in 1832, by 1874 they were importers and dealers in hardware, cutlery, guns, sporting equipment, and fishing tackle.
They manufactured surgical and dental instruments, supporters, and trusses. After th death of James Martin in 1871, the firm was sold to an employee, William H. Sample. Sample changed the name to W.H. Sample Hardware Company.
