This marking is found on push-button knives, and on the Norvell-Shapleigh line of knives. They were first called “Norvell-Shapleigh” about 1902, with Sanders Norvell president by 1907.
Mr. Norvell began in the hardware trade with the E.C. Simmons Company as a clerk. By 1900, he was vice-president of Simmons Hardware before moving to Shapleigh in 1902. The name was changed back to “Shapleigh Hardware” about 1917 (this could have been as early as 1915).
