“Tru-Temper” is stamped on the back of the tang. The Ohio Cutlery Company was organized in 1919. They had a short existence; on April 2, 1923, the building was completely destroyed by fire. A new building was secured, new equipment bought and put into place.
In June, 1923 the company began operations in their new plant. In May, 1925, R.R. Hess was elected Trustee by creditors. Elston Webner was named Attorney for the trustee. They sold the property and assets to a group who changed the name to the Massillon Cutlery Company.
