“Knoxville Tenn.” (curved) is stamped on the back of the tang. “Cranberry” is etched on the blade. This company was at 613 Gay Street, Knoxville, Tennessee. This wholesale and retail hardware was founded in 1870/71. Samuel B. and James C. Luttrell were the owners. Samuel Bell Luttrell was named after his grandfather, Samuel Bell, a “Bowie” knife maker, and Knoxville’s first mayor. They went out of business about 1922, after having operated for over 50 years.
