The Swedish Steel Forging Company (Svenska Stalsmides Aktich) was formed in 1918. Fahle Hammar gained control, and reorganized the Fabrika A.B. Johan Engstrom plant in Eskilstuna, Sweden.
Hammar invested one million Swedish Crowns in the new factory buildings and machinery. The name was changed to the Svenska Stalsmides Aktich. As manufacturers of straight razors, the new plant was capable of producing over 5,000 razors per day.
