This company was founded by Henry Tenk, Jr. and his brother Herman in 1865. They incorporated in 1891, and had the largest wholesale hardware business in the area. “Tenk’s Clipper Brand” pocket knives were sold in the 1891 to 1925 era. Many of Tenk’s knives were made by Ulster, and the Utica Cutlery Company. They went out of business in 1967.
