“Made in U.S.A.” is stamped on the back of the tang. This firm was founded in Fremont, Ohio in 1919. They moved their entire operation to Lisbon late in 1921. The employees moved with the work, so that the former organization was kept intact except for management. Ten men were employed.
They planned to expand and hire more workers. New operating capital in the amount of $50,000 was secured through stock sales to Lisbon residents. The factory was housed in a three-story brick building, with a one-story forge room. In all, about 9,000 square feet of floor space was available.
J.J. Bennett was president, J.H. Hinchcliffe vice-president, T.C. Williams secretary, W.C. Bellinger treasurer, H.D. Petty general manager.
