Founded by the Reverend Theodore Wenger, a minister who took over several independent Swiss cutlers in the early 1900s. In 1908, he secured a contract from the Swiss government to make Swiss Army Knives. Today the firm employs about 275 workers, and make about 10% of the Swiss Army Knives sold in the United States.
