This firm was founded about 1862 as the C.F. Wolfertz Company, operating as the Allentown Cutlery Works. They are listed in the city directory in 1873 as Wolfertz & Waldman. Three Wolfertz brothers, Carl, Fred, and Charles ran the firm until 1905.
It was in 1905 that the C.F. Wolfertz & Company was founded, and continued to exist as a cutlery business until 1944. At that time, they switched to home furnishings. They are still in business in that line of products.
