KnifeNews: Tashi Bharucha and We Knife Co. Join Forces for Speedliner

Another juicy bit of news out of Blade Show West was the first ever collaboration between We Knife Co. and Tashi Bharucha. The Speedliner embodies the high end look that is synonymous with Bharucha’s name in the custom knife world.

Bharucha loves bold, sweeping blade profiles, and he’s delivered a real winner on that front with the 3.38-inch specimen on the Speedliner. There’s belly, there’s straight edge, there’s a wicked and highly controllable tip. And, when you need to bring out that blade to work, you’ve got a square flipper tab, a Bharucha original that isn’t quite an in-line flipper, but is low profile. The flipper is the only opening device present, allowing the blade to be clean and unencumbered by stud, disk, or cutout.

The Speedliner blade’s versatility features a very versatile super steel, CPM-20CV. It’s a winning premium formulation with lots of edge retention, tons of corrosion resistance, and a respectable amount of day-to-day toughness too. You also have a choice of finishes here: you can get the blade with a black coating, a bead blast, or a hand rubbed satin finish that really evokes Bharucha’s custom pieces.

Tashi Bharucha is the designer behind the Jim Bowie Project with the Unnamed Society.
