KnifeNews: Vanax SuperClean Makes First Appearance in We Knife Co. Catalog

To literally nobody’s surprise, the ever-busy minds in the We Knife Co. design team have another model on the way, the Hyperactive. This one checks the usual premium We release boxes, but spices up the formula both in terms of its visuals, and with its blade steel.

Big and brash: a pair of alliterative words that can be applied to the Hyperactive. With a beefy 3.8-inch blade this one reminds us of the early We days, when almost every knife they put out was a big boy. The brashness goes beyond the bones here; We’s designers really cut loose with this one, implementing a compound grind that turns the Hyperactive’s fundamentally simple drop point into something more individualistic. In theory, a compound grind brings an additional dimension to a knife’s utility, as the different grind facets are suited suited to heavier or lighter tasks. But compound grinds also just look cool, make a design more memorable; and that’s certainly been accomplished with the Hyperactive in addition to any practical considerations.

It is an interesting steel. I don’t know too much about it.
