With SHOT Show opening just a week from now, many companies are getting out ahead of the glut of news by sending out press material on the 2023 realeases ahead of the show. As material comes in, we will bring it to you in these posts.
Today we open with CRKT. Probably the biggest news to come from this first round of release information is that CRKT is releasing a pair of USA-Made folders from husband and wife team Matthew and MJ Lerch.
CRKT Releases Pair of American Made Folders
Tualatin, Oregon based Columbia River Knife and Tool is best known for manufacturing imported knives from well known American designers, with an eye towards attainability for the masses. Their have been some domestically-produced exceptions and limited editions, but 2023 brings a pair of premium, American-made folding knives, produced in partnership with Hogue Knives. The LCBK and Definitive are designed in Wisconsin by husband and wife team Matthew and MJ Lerch respectively. The Lerch’s are responsible for several past CRKT designs including the Burnout (MJ) and the Blade Show Award winning Endorser (Matthew).
Both the Definitive and LCBK (Lightweight Crossbar Knife) feature 154CM blades, G10 scales, and crossbar-style locks for ambidextrous operation. The Definitive is the more flamboyant of the two, with a 3.7 inch harpoon blade and partially skeltonized handle, while the LCBK has clean, angular lines and a 3.48” modified wharncliffe blade profile. At just 3 ounces for the Definitive and 2.8oz for the LCBK and with their included deep-carry clips, both knives ride comfortably and discretely in one’s pocket.
MSRPs for the CRKT Definitive and LCBK are unavailable as of publication, but more information about the knives can be found by visiting www.crkt.com or by calling (800) 891-3100.
Another stand out is the Provoke EDC, which swaps the defensive oriented karambit blade out for a more general purpose drop point. I want one.
There is a New Pilar IV, new Tuna from Lucas Burnley, and much more.
