CRKT and Hogue Knives Partner up for Future Knife Projects

On the first day of SHOT Show last month, CRKT brought a big surprise: a pair of American-made folder, the Definitive and the LCBK. This week, the company confirmed that the folders are part of a larger initiative resulting from a partnership with Hogue Knives.

Hogue Knives was the OEM for the two new CRKT models, leveraging the Paso Robles, California facility that is also the birthplace of Hogue’s own line of folders and fixed blades. A label under the larger Hogue, Inc. firearms accessory company, Hogue Knives kicked into gear in 2016 and has since carved out a space for themselves in a crowded, competitive section of the market.

“We’ve known the team at Hogue Knives for quite some time and their sterling reputation in the marketplace is well deserved,” Doug Flagg, VP of Marketing and Innovation at CRKT, says in the official press release. “As we looked towards partners in US manufacturing, they were an obvious fit in helping us develop top-notch American-made knives and we couldn’t be more pleased to be working with them.”

I like Hogue and I like CRKT. I think that this partnership has a lot of potential. Domestic knives will never be CRKT’s bread and butter, but having a a few solid options will benefit the company greatly.
