If you need a rugged pocket knife that won’t break the bank for your EDC needs then you may want to look at the new Gerber Scout. The Scout has a 3.19 inch drop point blade with a big oblong opening hole for ambidextrous use. It uses a pivot look which is also ambidextrous and has a reversible deep carry pocket clip. Handle scales are of textured micarta and the blade steel is a rather pedestrian, but functional 440A stainless steel, which is part of the reason it’s so affordable with only a $60 MSRP.
