Founded in 1863 when George W. and Edward W. Morley moved to Saginaw, Michigan from Ohio. They purchased an interest in the Schmitz Hardware, and along with Anton Schmitz, operated under the name of Schmitz & Morley.
About two years later they bought Schmitz out, and they became Morley Brothers about 1865. Today, Morley Brothers is one of the largest hardware wholesalers in Michigan. The Wedgeway Cutlery Company trademark was first used in 1887.
