A hen and rooster is stamped on the back of the tang. These knives were made by C. Bertram, and sold by Carters Cutlery Company of Scottsville, Kentucky, and Fife Cutlery Company of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Carters had a large mail order business selling a variety of hen and rooster marked knives, including the ones with the “Voss” marking.
