As summer winds down we find ourselves on the cusp of Fall, and the  October 2020 issue of KNIFE Magazine. It is back from the printer and on its way to subscribers in the coming weeks.

The cover article is a fantastic primer on dating the manufacture of a vintage Buck Knife. I can finally make sense of the markings on my 110s and 119.

We also have a plethora of other articles including a really interesting article on Hardy Angler’s knives, which have made their way onto my wish list.

And as usual, we have our regularly scheduled columns for Knife Rights, AKTI, ABS, and more.

  1. When I was in the U.S. Navy in the last century (the ’70s and early ’80s) . . . carried my Buck “Ranger “, early one without the nail nick. I kept a keen edge on it while on deterrent patrol in the USS George Bancroft SSBN643 Blue Crew. Put to good use and now a keepsake. Submariners Do It Deeper! Hocky

  2. Another awesome issue, can’t wait to read the whole “Buck” article. Don’t even know what happened to my trusty Model 112 over the years? Have told this story before, – used my knife as a pry bar breaking off a good section of the tip. Sent a letter along with the knife, even detailed the way I abused my knife. Thought the Buck people could put a new blade on and bill me for the repair. Not long after a shiny, brand new “Ranger” arrived. There was also a signed letter from Chuck Buck himself. Lost that over the years too, but that was very cool for a young knife lover!
