When I opened my mailbox this afternoon, I realized that I never posted a Sneak Peek for the October issue, because there in all its plastic sealed glory was my copy of the magazine. This one is special to me, as it was the first time that I am the author of the cover article. Kyle just won Best Chef’s Knife at Blade Show, and it was time he got some (literal in this case) ink. I am biased, but I think it turned out pretty well.
Part 2 of Simon Moore’s History of Folding Knives continues where September’s cover article left off, I learned a bunch from David Anthony’s Great Eastern Cutlery piece. Matthew Parkinson as always blends practical knifemaking advice with a touch of philosophy, and Ron Flook takes us down another rabbit hole of WWII military knives.
All of our regular columns are back, Knife News shares the announcement of a new consortium of Portland Area knife companies, a new Les George Defiant 7 release, as well as new knives from Demko and GiantMouse. J. Bruce Voyles has his usual pair, Edgewise and Bruce on the loose. Bernard Levine has more unique finds, Knife Rights and ABS, and AKTI share their latest news, and it wraps with the Events Calendar and Classified section.
I will have a chat with Katie tomorrow to make sure she turns on the digital copy for our Online Premium Members, which you will find in the Member Area.
It’ll be up shortly.
