H. Clay Aalders is a lifelong edged tool user. He spent the past 20 years as a woodworker and fishing guide in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and Tennessee. While guiding in Idaho, Clay worked part-time writing for a local newspaper, and upon moving to Tennessee began writing for the blog The Truth About Knives - spending his last 5 years there as Managing Editor. His background is in fixed-blade hunting and bushcraft knives, but has jumped into the world of vintage slipjoint collecting with both feet since coming to work at Knife Magazine. Clay’s primary role is as Digital Editor, curating and creating new content for our website and blog, as well as maintaining the Knife Magazine social media accounts (FB/IG: @theknifemag, Twitter: @knifemagazine). He is also a contributor and Associate Editor of the print magazine.

    1. magnacut could be reworded to a combination of a foul smelling, cheesy like substance that accumulates on and around the deloris and a slang term for female anatomy. i don’t know about overrated, look on the charts to see where it slots. i’d accept closer to d2 stainless properties for wear and toughness gains.

      1. CMEAT: I do “JUMBLE” regularly in the local newspaper . . . Un-jumbling “magnacut” into a “Websterian” word yielded zero results at this point. Dr. Thomas invented this word . . . Most blade steels use letters and numbers. I will continue my un-jumbilation (sp?).

          there are no words contained within that utilize all letters.
          decent anagrams include can’t guam, can gamut and c*nt gama which uses half of my above allusion.

          2. how i learned to love the bomb. dr. strangelove, one of the first images burned into my pre- adolescent mind from the non uhf portable tube zenith in the rumpus room. that yeehaa footage really kind of tweaked me a bit- i only caught the last few minutes, wondered what it was i had seen for many years.
