Well it’s been a while since we’ve been able to talk about the ongoing Bestech/Ostap Hel Bouquet series, but at long last the collaborators have returned to the project with the Sambac. This one uses the jasmine flower as a jumping off point for a sleek larger folding knife design.
If you traced all of our scant botanical knowledge back to its origins, the vast majority would almost certainly come from covering the Bouquet line. The Sambac takes its name from a variety of jasmine flower, grown in parts of Asia. It sure is a pretty plant, and it translates into a very pretty knife, too, with a flowing trailing point blade that runs to 3.6 inches long. It’s a looker, but also a worker, with a potent point, some belly, and plenty of straight edge to address nearly any standard day-to-day cutting chore.
Someone needs to count the number of companies producing Hel’s designs, and compare the total to Vox, and a couple of others. Ostap designs some nice stuff.
