KnifeNews: New Classic Style Fixed Blade Arrives from Civivi

There’s always new Civivi stuff to cover, of course, but one format in their catalog we like to pay especial attention to, due to its relative rarity, is the classic outdoor fixed blade category. There’s a new one arriving this month, the Cloud Peak, and it offers a well-rounded blade suited to many different needs.

Probably the Cloud Peak’s closest relation within the active Civivi catalog is the Teton Tickler, the company’s take on the classic bowie. At 4.6 inches long, Cloud Peak’s blade, a wide, flat-ground drop point, runs smaller than the Teton’s; and whereas that previous model utilized D2 steel, here we’re seeing Nitro-V instead, a full stainless formulation that has always been a bit of a sleeper hit in the waiting in our book.

I haven’t looked much at imported fixed blades as USA Made ones are usually not too outrageous in price. That said, I like the looks of this one. I would love a polished micarta option as opposed to G10.
