BEar and Son is an American company, making American knives in Alabama. They don’t get nearly enough love in my opinion. As one seldom sees them on YouTube, I jumped at the chance to share this sit down with Ken Griffey.

  2. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Thank you. I met Ken Griffey and his son, Matthew, at the Atlanta “Blade Show” in 2015. Since that event, I own several “BEAR & SON” knives. I bought every Model “109” (MIB) that a local knife & gun store had on sale a few Christmases ago as stocking stuffers. Recently, I bought four “4th Generation, stag handled, slip-joints” (MIB) at the “Shenandoah Valley Knife Club” show in Harrisonburg, VA. Tempted to keep them. Mostly likely going in the peddler bag. Every once in a while, I will see the forerunner of “BEAR & SON’: “MGC” (1992), at a pawn shop or knife show. Last year, an acquaintance of mine from the “Bill Moran Foundation”, “Sarge”, had a relative of his hand-deliver* my “BEAR OPS” auto to the Jacksonville facility to “fix” a bit of wonkiness in the blade action. *I could not mail it because it was an automatic. Several weeks later, “Sarge”, gave me my knife. Works slick as a whistle. The customer service at “BEAR & SON” is top notch. Previously, I mentioned in a comment that Andy Armstrong, “RoseCraft”, might discuss a partnership with “BEAR & SON”. “RoseCraft” is headquartered in Marysville, TN ; and, makes superb knives BUT use Chinese (“PRC”) manufacturing. Jacksonville, AL is due north or thereabouts from Marysville. Please consider talking about this potential benefit to the knife enthusiasts who “Buy American”.
