I apparently used the title “London Falling” in 2022 when the Queen passed. It was fun to go back and read that post. I am recycling the title based on the dystopian nightmare that is unfolding in Britain. It is bad enough that they want to ban knives, but banning speech gets you kicked out of the liberal democracy club. I also stole two of the memes to use again. Like this one…
If you haven’t been following, the Brits have their knickers in a twist over people having the audacity to complain about immigrants knifing people.
That will get you a visit from His Majesty’s Constabulary.
I am probably going to be put on a list for this post, or for when I tweeted that Thierry Breton could get bent.
Go look for Elon’s response. It is too NSFW to share here, but it is the only proper response.
The situation in the UK differs slightly from what is going on in Europe, which seems more about meddling in US elections. But the Brits are threatening to extradite people.
They can …
because I am…
Teo countries separated by a common language…
America to the rescue…
This will lead to a black market in memes…
England has truly fallen…
Switching gears before we return to the Commonwealth-in-memes, there is one show this weekend,
and a really busy one next….
Plus, with it being National Knife Day falling on August 24th, there is the Portland Center of Knife Excellence Maker Showcase:
You can find out more about this new consortium of Portland Makers here:

In case you missed it.
My daughter has a 60’s kitsch style, and loves VW Beetles, and is actually something of a Monkees superfan.
Micky Dolenz and the late Mike Nesmith came to Knoxville in 2021.
I took my daughter.
Nesmith passed not long after. I am happy I took her.
So the musical guest tonight is obvious…
Not their most famous song, but one of my daughter’s favorites.
I once read of the Monkees that they were a Frankenstein’s Monster that rebelled against their creator, flexing their creative muscle, and refusing to stay within the lines. I always enjoyed them, and have come to respect them as I have learned more about the band.
The olympics are over, but I enjoyed watching as I usually do, despite the usual kerfuffles. We covered the Turkish shooter thoroughly, and skipped the “well endowed” French pole vaulter for obvious reasons. But the games gave us the most memeable moment of all in the Australian break dancer.
The layers of ridiculousness are like an onion, starting with the fact that “Olympic Breakdancing” is a thing.
And she was really, really, bad at it.
She actually scored a zero. I think Elaine would have been better.
I think this is my favorite…
The Land Down Under…
This was an awful song…
She could have used this from our childhood…
The judges look enraptured…
They are neverending…
But not here…
A couple of other newsworthy memes…
NASA and Boeing are having “issues”.
As are the Russians in Kursk…
That is really funny. And ironic.
Who knows what is coming next?
Of course the Canadians won’t give up without a fight…
Have you seen the news from Canada? It might be considered a War of Liberation.
We have a winner in our CRKT M16 giveaway. Hocky’s magnets must have worked, because I drew comment #23, which was his second token. Congrats Bubblehead. Use it in good health.
Our next giveaway will be for a CRKT Mbombo, designed by Darriel Caston.
Usual rules apply. Up to five comments or replies are your entries. If you are new to the blog, your first comments will be held in moderation until I can approve them. This is a single draw contest.
Good Luck everyone.
My favorite meme of the week. He has a “point”.
That one is a classic. I have probably shared it before.
I’ve got nothing.
*Diabeetus Intensifies.
Mmm.
Refreshing.
Quite ironic.
Jim Cobb has something to say about that…
I am actually working on a freelance piece for Jim, and Jim is working on a freelance piece for Mark. The knife media family tree is somewhat of a ficus.
Accurate.
Use pizza as bait.
The answer is obvious.
Some heroes don’t wear capes.
Endorsed.
Gandolf Abides.
Switching direction for a moment…
As I have every week since October 7th, almost a YEAR ago at this point, I am taking a moment from this, our most viewed post each week, to use my platform to voice support for the State of Israel.
Why do I do this? Because there was a cease fire (interrupted by regular, random rocket fire from the Palestinians) in place on October 6th. By people like this…
Those are the “innocent” Palestinians in Gaza on full display.
“We are the ones who launched this war, and we will be the ones to end it. Until the last drop of our blood, we keep offering, and sacrificing until all of us die, for the sake of Allah.”

I’d remind him that this war could end tomorrow if the Hostages are returned, and Hamas steps down. I can’t fault Israel for not seeing folks like that to be partners in peace. How can you be expected to “negotiate” with such people? People who are calling for your genocide, and whose actions show that given the opportunity they would carry out such treat.
Of course, we all know Iran is pulling the strings, both in the Middle East, as well as funding the “protest” movement here in America. Next week in Chicago is going to be a shyteshow.
I look forward to retiring this section of the WOT. I will not abandon it until Israel declares its operation to be concluded.
Returning to our regularly scheduled programming, here again are the Monkees…
Nesmith was a heck of a songwriter. Actually wrote the early Linda Ronstadt/Stone Poneys song Different Drum among others.
Things are rough, but we do our best to help you through…
…and I will continue to do so, no matter who may be watching…
Because it is what a Memelord does…
My advice to everyone…
I am probably going to get in trouble for that one.
Have a great weekend everybody.
