Hey all, happy Friday the 13th. This isn’t the first time I have used Triskaidekaphobia as my theme, but it is hard to avoid the memes on a very memeable day. And with sequels running into the double digits, I can keep using it for WOTs to come.
He needs more “flare”.
He has The Cure.
Ahh…summer camp.
This weekend is Blade Show West. It started this afternoon…

I feel badly that I am not there, not that I have ever been to Blade West, but at the same time it seems pretty tame compared to Atlanta. I am still trying to figure out if I am going to try to go to SHOT this January. At any rate, if you are in the Salt Lake area…
For those in the East…
Allegheny Mountain Knife Collectors Association Annual Knife Show
And coming up next week…
As we have discussed in a couple of newsfeed posts, the Hamas massacre of Israelis last weekend is front of mind, and while it is too soon for much in the way of humor, there are a couple of memes that crossed my feed this week that I wanted to share.
There is no moral equivalency between those that use innocents as shields, and those that seek to shelter the innocent.
If Hamas laid down its weapons there would be no war. If Israel laid down its weapons there would be no Israel. And finally, this is actually amusing.
I guess all is not bad.
Tonight’s music selection is relevant to the Israel situation. Matisyahu is an Orthodox Jewish Reggae musician with a fascinating backstory. His music is phenomenal. I will share some of his more upbeat stuff another week. But if you can’t wait, look up “King without a Crown”. You won’t be sorry.
One Day addresses the Israeli/Palestinian conflict directly. Beautiful and poignant.
I am not optimistic about the near term. But I fought the urge to pick Barry McGuire’s “Eve of Destruction”. I hope we aren’t that screwed.
Changing gears, I wanted to give a shout out to Cmeat. A couple of years ago he sent me a Zebra telescopic pen. I love it and ordered a couple of more recently.
They aren’t quite the same, but they will work when the one Cmeat sent me eventually dies. Thanks buddy. And sorry to hear about your friend. May his memory be a blessing.
Contest time, courtesy of CRKT.
I have Cmeat’s Booth Corkscrew tool, and Stuart B’s M16 ready to ship. This week’s winner gets to pick between the CRKT Thero (top) or Shennanigan (Bottom). Next week’s winner gets the last knife.
Congrats to David McCarty. Take your pick sir.
As for next week…Usual rules apply. Up to 5 comments or replies are your entries, and if you are new commenter, your comments count double. I will need to approve new comments, so if you don’t see yours, just wait and it will be approved.
Now, lets kick back and escape the troubles of the world with some memey goodness.
I will put the somewhat topical first, then they will gradually become more random
There is an outside chance I have shared a couple of these before. That one seems familiar, but I am not going through every prior October WOT to figure it out.
Savages. You only think of yourself.
I hope I don’t find this…
GnR maybe.
I will have the leg of Prosciutto.
Cue the Finnish Snipers. Like Ninjas of the Northwoods.
I thought The Who sang Bohemian Rhapsody.
Anyone else “Dazed and Confused” by all of this?
Yes he is.
True.
Dad jokes.
It grows like a rash.
Always the last place you look.
Fierce Boi.
Exactly.
That was my favorite meme of the week. It made the anthropologist/historian in me smile.
You can order one for yourself. 3 easy payments and one difficult one. Just ask Mitch Hedberg.
Absolutely. Sign me up.
What could go wrong?
My wife liked that one.
Me too to be honest.
That crab is totally metal.
Always persist. God gave you free will for a reason.
And it wasn’t to wear crocs.
Or that.
I think I have met that person.
I learned to drive in Cleveland (pre-giant hairball). I fear no snow.
Apropos of nothing at all, Paul Newman is from my hometown of Shaker Hts. OH. And he went to Kenyon.
I might have shared that before. But it is classic. Some of those are painful to imagine.
Evergreen…
But I have well developed coping mechanisms.
Have a good one all. Prayers for Israel.
