Since its founding in 2012, Kizer has offered hundreds of different knife models. However, even with such a deep catalog, some of them stand out.
Arguably, none is quite as iconic as the Chris Conaway collaboration, the Sheepdog. For many EDC fans, Kizer and the Sheepdog are practically synonymous.
Now, the brand has breathed new life into this legendary silhouette in a surprisingly appropriate, affordable way, courtesy of the Kizer Sheepdog Survival.
First, this looks like a fabulous knife. I really like the Sheepdog and all its variants. I have been carrying the new drop point folder regularly. The handle is really comfortable, and I am sure it is even more so on a fixed blade with no clip to deal with.
That said, I do not believe that Chinese fixed blades offer the same value proposition over US knives in particular. The relative American-made price-premium does not usually break the bank. Folding knives are a different story.
I would love to try this one out though.
