Located at 105 Duane Street, New York City throughout its existence. They also had offices at 190 N. State Street, Chicago, Illinois. An interesting item is that they were a close neighbor of the H. Boker & Company import firm. Boker was at 101-103 Duane, next door to Vom Cleff.
In the early years of this company, the trademark “Diamondine” was shared with the W.H. Hambleton Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both firms imported cutlery items, mainly razors, from England and Germany. By 1906, they were composed solely by Robert Vom Cleff and Robert Vom Cleff Jr.
They dealt in all types of cutlery. “Blue Steel” was another trademark used by them. In 1918, they purchased the factory of Summit Cutlery Company, Jersey City, New Jersey. The Summit factory mainly made safety razors, and safety razor blades. In 1926, Vom Cleff firm was sold to K.C. Seelbach Company.
