The March 2019 issue of Knife Magazine featured an article I wrote about legendary Canadian knifemaker Jose de Braga. It was an honor and privilege to write about this multi-faceted, talented artist. Jose is well known for his extraordinary designs that are futuristic looking, to say the least. I was so excited for this opportunity; having known Jose for over twenty years, writing about him was a dream come true.
Twenty years ago, I was making mostly hunting knives and it was time to try something new. I called Jose and asked if he could design a knife for me to make. The answer was yes, and the knife he designed was spectacular. It featured so many curves and fantastic lines, really pushing the envelope in terms of design, not to mention the limits of my skillset. Unfortunately, a good friend talked me out of that knife, and when I briefly got it back I somehow let it get away again.
