Since we are all stuck inside, we here at Knife Magazine thought you might want a bit of a diversion. We already know you like to win free knives. In this case it is a Spyderco Native 5 in S30V. There are 3 ways you can submit an entry. Just fill the puzzle out online (you will be prompted to submit when finished), or print and fill out a paper copy and email me a photo (clay (at) knifemagazine.com). You can download a PDF to print by clicking here. There is also an embedded version you can click on at the bottom of this post.

We know that some of these clues are a bit esoteric and might not be known to your average knife user. Never Fear! Almost all of the clues come directly from the KnifeMagazine.com Knife Glossary. You can “CRTL-F” search for the key words from the clue and you will get the answer.

If you are not familiar with our Knife Glossary, you can find it under “The Vault” menu tab. The Vault—>Knife Glossary. The glossary contains more than 200 entries, and is our attempt to establish a uniform list of terms so writers, makers, and collectors can communicate effectively and without misunderstanding. H. Clay Aalders is a lifelong edged tool user. He spent the past 20 years as a woodworker and fishing guide in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and Tennessee.   2. Puzzle submitted! Thanks for the Saturday morning puzzle! It was fun over coffee!

    I’m in that group that likes the no hump look of this Spyderco. The Native just looks sleek.

    We had more rain earlier this morning. Heading out back to pull some of my over-wintered onions If it’s dry enough the tilling will condense along with some some planting..

    My preferred yard work companion is an Opinel 9 in stainless. Love that thing

  3. “Knife” staff: I thoroughly enjoyed the crossword. Well Done! I have enjoyed solving crosswords since I was a kid in the ’60s. I would get a hold of the “TV Guide” and work it. My Mom would get angry at me because she liked the puzzle, too. Does anybody remember “Cleveland Amory”? I learned a few things from reading the “Knife Glossary”. Good job with that. Back to crossword puzzles, I do the New York Times (NYT) Sunday puzzle religiously. I am working on constructing a puzzle structured, i.e. themed around the knife industry and its history. Hopefully, Will Shortz, Editor of the NYT Crossword, will find it worthy of printing. I will let you know when it is finished.

  4. a wonderful knife. i’ve stopped buying partials, but they do excel at buckthorn and rope. that blade reminds me of the serration proportions on my old kommer full throttle- sort of a 6/ 10ths.
    much prefer the leafies w/ o the thumb hump. manix, native, chap, even the efficient.
