Hey everyone. There was enough absurdity in the pandemic lockdowns that I felt fine making light of the situation. I am finding it a bit harder to be lighthearted watching cities across this great land burn. Unlike Ferguson, which went from “hands up, don’t shoot” to Eric Holder’s handpicked investigator ruling it a clean shoot, the killing of George Floyd seems pretty cut and dry. It united left and right, as we could all watch the video in horror as the life was literally squeezed from his body. Anger is justified. But the scenes of Police stations abandoned and set ablaze are going to divide the country back into tribal fury. It could easily spiral into tribal violence. As I am writing this the Secret Service is being pelted with firecrackers outside the White House. This terrifies me exponentially more than the WuFlu ever did. I am going to pass on much of the humor tonight.

My meme at the top was obviously a joke, but as if this year couldn’t get any more insane:

That really happened in India. I’d like to cancel my trial subscription to 2020 please.

On the brighter side, we have a Lucas Burnley designed CRKT Tuna. Its a pretty sweet knife, and we are grateful to CRKT for providing us with our giveaway knives these past 6 weeks. We saved the best for last.

My personal impression is that this is a heck of a knife for the $45 retail price. The framelock is robust, and the G10 opposing scale combination is something typically found at much higher price points.

It has a crisp action and lockup, and feels really nice in my mid-sized paw.

  1. It’s June 4th and I have been planting vegetables all week. Couple of tomato plants are in including a “Black Krim” which is a new one for me. Lots of salad plants like butter and leaf lettuce, cukes and zukes et al. Pole beans should be climbing the trellis in a couple of weeks (Hopefully earlier). I got my sweet corn, reliable Silver Queen, in the ground yesterday. We have been blessed by Mother Nature with temps in the ’80s to near 90. I think that having a garden will keep me busy and it is great to have a release from the world’s woes so many of which are created by humans. I got my June issue of “Knife”. Always enjoyable reading. The coming Events calendar appears to be on the rebound. Yea! Hocky in Hagerstown

  3. I reached out to CRKT a couple days ago about an issue with a micarta scale on my CEO, they were very quick to respond. The last couple days I’ve carrying my M-04 in bone, I absolutely love that knife. Thanks to CRKT for these knives being given away. Hope to add this one to my collection.

    chicken= yardbird.
    turkey bird= chittering fair skinned redhead from one of 32 counties.

    many factions. peaceful protestors, opportunistic looters, kids on lockdown blowing off some steam and violent punk ass bitches inciting rioting and destroying neighborhoods they aren’t from.

  5. I watched the live feed from Atlanta yesterday evening. Police in tactical gear inside CNN HQ. A white male person wearing shorts and a T-shirt banging window glass. Over and over again, this lunatic rushes the window and hits it with an object causing it to crack. He is urged forward by maniacal people of all description. Some are half-naked. The police show amazing restraint. Then, a flash bang “something” is hurled into the police. Who are these “protesters”? I suggest they are common street thugs and creeps, ne’er-do-wells, Hey! Let’s get on TV numbnuts, etc. etc. etc. Non-lethal response should have been used. Beanbag shotguns, tear gas (I believe that was used). That nut job front and center should have been subdued immediately. IF another “brave” protester stepped in to replace him, THEN take him, too. Peaceful protest is protected by our Constitution. These demonstrations by street rabble should not be tolerated. Oh, I will have a BLT . . . (bacon, lettuce, tomato . . . no other meaning) Hocky in Hagerstown

    1. I asked my mother that question when I was in first grade. She picked up the can and said “Because this is tuna FISH, not chicken!” The label said “Chicken of the Sea”.
      And it was tuna FISH until the day died! Ill be happy to carry a tuna knife! And when the grandson asks why I call it a tuna knife, ill simply respond “because it’s not tuna FISH!” He hates bad dad jokes.

  7. I have a CRKT that looks like a mini katana. It is a great little knife. I agree on the initial video, sad, but the resulting rioting and looting has gotten beyond reasonable
